FAQ
What colors do I need for a crochet fox?
Most foxes use three colors: orange or rust for the body, white or cream for the muzzle, chest and tail tip, and black or dark brown for the legs, ear tips and nose. Even small amounts of white and black are enough, so a fox is a good scrap-yarn project.
How do you make the white tip on a crochet fox tail?
Start the tail with white yarn at the tip, crochet a few rounds, then switch to orange for the rest. Changing color in the last step of the stitch before the new color keeps the line clean. Stuff the tail lightly so it stays soft and bends a little.
Is a crochet fox hard for beginners?
Not at all if you pick the right pattern. Small foxes like #2 and #3 use only single crochet in the round with simple color changes. Bigger foxes with many pieces, special stitches and lots of sewing, like #11 and #13, are better once you have a few amigurumi done.
