Four friends from the far north, each a round stuffed ball that hangs on the tree: a brown walrus with white tusks, a black and white puffin with a bright orange beak, a grey and white husky in a blue scarf, and a white arctic hare with long black-tipped ears.
They share the same 13-round ball as our woodland ornaments, so you can mix the two sets on one tree. Step-by-step photos show each animal, and there is a pastel version at the end.

What You’ll Need
- Sport / fine (size 2) cotton yarn in brown, beige, white, black, orange, grey, blue, red and a little pink
- 2.5 mm crochet hook (a hook smaller than the yarn label suggests keeps the stitches tight)
- 8 mm safety eyes, 2 per ornament (or embroider the eyes)
- Fiberfill stuffing
- Tapestry needle, sewing pins and a stitch marker
The finished size depends on your yarn and hook: thicker yarn and a bigger hook make a bigger ornament.

FAQ
Can I mix these with the woodland ornaments?
Yes. Both sets use the same ball, so they come out the same size and hang together nicely.
What yarn works best?
Smooth sport weight cotton shows the stitches and keeps the balls round. Fuzzy yarn hides the faces.
Can I make them without safety eyes?
Yes, and it is a good idea if children will play with them. Embroider the eyes with black yarn over 2 stitches.
