FAQ
How do you make spots on a crochet mushroom?
You have a few choices. Crochet small white circles and sew them on, like most patterns here. Glue on felt circles for a quick finish. Or work the spots right into the cap with color changes, like the earrings and Baby Toadstool. French knots also make cute little dots.
How do I make a crochet mushroom stand up?
Work the bottom of the stem flat with a back loop round so it has a clear edge. Add a few poly pellets in a small bag at the base before stuffing, like the Chonky Mushroom. You can also cut a cardboard or plastic circle to sit inside the bottom of the stem.
What yarn is best for small crochet mushrooms?
Cotton yarn is great for small mushrooms because it holds shape and shows stitches clearly. Crochet thread works for tiny earrings and toadstools. Use a hook one or two sizes smaller than the label says so your stitches stay tight and the stuffing stays hidden.
Grab some red and cream scraps and make your first little toadstool tonight.
